4 months already

Our baby is growing so fast. Today Ahu had her 4 month appointment. She wasn't too excited to go to the doctors. Our doctor was just checking her breathing and she started to perk her lower lip up and started to cry. She either knew what was coming or she's very sensitive. Which is so different from what the boys were at her age. They were more curious and never really cried when the doctor examined them. I think I'm in for it with our baby girl. I'm looking forward for her attitude and sensitivity as long as I have my shopping partner.

Sept. 30th 2010

Weight: 13lbs 2.8 oz 50%
Height: 25.25 inches 90%
Head: 10%
Yes she has a small head and can still fit in some of her 0-3month clothes. I'm just glad she's a happy healthy baby. What more can I ask for.
Things she does:
  • giggles
  • can sit in her bumbo
  • constantly has her fingers in her mouth (teething maybe?)
  • puffs her cheeks out and lets the air out slowly on the side of her mouth to make the cutest sound. She thinks its so fun!
  • always has to have her fingers wrapped around mine when I nurse her.
  • whenever I'm holding her and someone is talking to me she thinks they're talking to her so she'll have her eyes wide open and smile at them.
  • Puts herself to sleep without crying. She'll lay in her crib and look around and play then fall asleep.
  • Her naps aren't really on a schedule yet. She naps every 2 hours for only an hour during the day but at night she' s forming a schedule of going to bed around 6 or 7pm then waking up once around 3am for a feeding then waking up for the morning around 7am. Sometimes she won't even wake up for the 3am feeding and will sleep though the whole night. Today though, she napped for 31/2 hours. Longest nap in awhile.

Yes, I was camera happy but how can you stop taking pictures of this cutie.
I thought I better put her in this outfit her aunty Stef gave her for the last time. I'm sad to put it away in a box, it was one of my favorite outfits. Thanks aunty she looks so cute in it!

Doesn't Kalani look so cute and Innocent....... Wish that were the case!

Princess Cut Earrings

Yesterday we pierced Ahu's ears. Yes, it was sooo sad as you can tell from the pictures. I was a nervous wreck and I think Ahu could feel my tension. While the lady was getting ready I was holding Ahu and I could feel her shaking like she knew something wasn't right. I turned her around to comfort her and she had the saddest face. Her bottom lip stuck out like she was about to cry. It was so sad and cute at the same time. The piercing was so fast she cried for a little then she was okay. When we left the store the first thing the boys said was...."I'm glad I'm not a girl so I don't have to get shots in my ears." Little do they know what they had to go through when they were babies (circumcision).

Not that she wasn't cute before I just wanted her to get them so she won't remember it. Plus I got my ears pierced when I was a baby too and I probably wouldn't have gotten them. Not because I don't want them pierced but because I would have chickened out. So Ahu can thank me later.

Kalani's 1st day of Preschool

This preschool is part of Pacific University. It's their Education facility where students and graduate students teach the preschoolers.
Kalani was stoked at first when he got to school but when it was time for me and Kailoa to leave he started to cry. We stayed around to watch and make sure he stopped crying. Everyone was sitting around in a circle but I couldn't see Kalani. One of the ladies said he went to the bathroom so I waited to make sure he went back to the circle. I was waiting for a while and thought ok he should be done by now, sure enough I found him. He had snuck out the other door from the bathroom into the play area and was playing with trains. One of the teachers went and tried to convince him to go back into the classroom. He said "Kalani lets go back into the classroom." And Kalani said "No I want to play with the trains." He will give them a run for their money!
It was so hard to leave him. I felt sad and guilty. This preschool is an all day preschool. I only have him in for two days from 9-3pm. That's kind of a long day for me to sit and worry about him.
When I went to pick him up he was playing outside having a good time. I asked the teacher how he did, she said he was just fine. That's what they all say, right?
Right when we got into the car from picking him up I asked him if he liked school and he said no. I asked him if he wanted to go back to school and he said no. So we will try this out again and if he's not ready well take him out.

Kindergarten

Aiden/Kailoa's 1st day of Kindergarten was this Thursday. Aiden wants to be called Kailoa now because a boy that lives next door to us is named Aiden plus he says Kailoa is a cooler name. Yes our family is having issues with names! So we registered him for school as Kailoa so everyone at school calls him Kailoa. He thinks it's pretty cool.
That morning we dropped off Kalani for school first since he started earlier and that morning was probably the longest morning for Kailoa. He kept asking is it time for me to go to school yet. He couldn't wait. He was so happy to finally go to school.
After school he said he had fun and that they went to the gym and exercised and ran around. He's growing up so fast!

Visitors

This posting is kind of late but I didn't want to leave this great visit out. Grandma and Grandpa Norton came to visit us, we did a lot in that short amount of time. The kids enjoyed every minute of it. Each morning they were so excited to run down stairs and find grandma and grandpa sleeping. We enjoyed your company come back soon!
